Rose Marimon
Rose Marimon (pseudonym Rosy Myart) is a Canberra-based visual artist known for black-and-white works on paper, often punctuated by a single red mark that functions as an anchor, warning, or clue. Her practice began in the early 2000s with colour acrylic abstracts on canvas. However, seeking clarity amid personal, environmental, and social imbalances, she shifted to a monochrome aesthetic that has become her signature style.
Working primarily with gel ink pens and acrylic markers on paper, she creates layered compositions in both small and large formats that merge precision with chaos. Her art confronts the impact of human actions on the environment and each other. Through abstraction, she highlights environmental degradation and social tensions to disrupt complacency and provoke dialogue.
Her work circulates through regional and independent spaces and lives in private collections. Rose’s ongoing body of work is showcased online as The Rosy Myart Project.
