Isabelle Mackay-Sim

Isabelle Mackay-Sim is a ceramic artist whose practice explores the body as a site of transformation, identity, and perception. A 2018 Honours graduate from the Australian National University School of Art and Design, Isabelle works experimentally with clay to investigate how material and process can shape meaning and emotional resonance in figurative sculpture.
Isabelle has exhibited widely both in Australia and internationally, including presentations at the Korean Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale, the Joya Barcelona Decorative Arts Fair, and as a recipient of the 2020 Talente Award in Munich. Raised in Canberra, she first encountered ceramics through after-school classes and continues to foster her connection to the field as both a practising artist and educator. She currently teaches ceramics part-time at the ANU School of Art and Design.
