The More You Look, the More You See
Woolshed Gallery, 10 October - 8 November
Meet Rose in the gallery during opening weekend, 10–11 October
Visit Rose in her studio at Strathnairn Arts during the final weekend of the exhibition, 7–8 November
'The More You Look, the More You See' brings together abstract works by Rose Marimon, also known as Rosy Myart, primarily created between 2023 and 2026. The works span paper, panel and canvas.
Working from her studio at Strathnairn Arts, Rose creates black and white works in acrylic and pigment ink, using line, pattern, layering and contrast to draw attention to things that are often hidden, softened or ignored.
The exhibition is arranged across three main collections: smaller, more contained works; larger, bolder works; and a surveillance-focused collection that explores the tension between watching and being watched.
Across the exhibition, the works reflect the world as Rose experiences it: the people who are overlooked, the damage we accept, the systems we move through every day, and the things we do not always question.
Rose asks viewers to slow down and look more closely, to notice more in her works and in the world around us.
Behind the Exhibition
Every work in the exhibition began with the artist noticing something, asking questions and exploring what sits beneath the surface. In Insights from Artist Rose Marimon, she shares the ideas, observations and creative decisions that shaped ‘The More You Look, the More You See’.

Exhibition Playlist
Rose often listens to 1980s music while she works. The rhythm, repetition and emotional intensity of the music create an atmosphere that helps shape her creative process. This playlist, curated by Rose, features songs that accompanied the making of ‘The More You Look, the More You See’, inviting visitors to experience the exhibition through the sounds that were part of its creation.
