Strathnairn Arts Association is a shared facility, the kilns and other property being owned by all its members. As the building surrounds and kiln areas are shared by studio holders, and other members who use the facilities, and are sometimes visited by members of the public, consideration must be given to the comfort of all users of the facility. While studio spaces are for the exclusive use of the studio holders, most other areas are common and need to be kept clean, safe and accessible.

As the property is leased from the ACT Government and liable to review, those members responsible for managing the property must ensure that the activities carried out make appropriate use of the site and are consistent with the basic objectives.

Gallery

Two gallery spaces are available for hire for exhibitions or other suitable events. Refer to the Gallery hire information page.
Applications are required and you can download an  Application form to hire or collect one from Strathnairn Gallery.

Village Hall and grounds

The Village Hall and grounds are available for hire for workshops etc. For bookings and enquiries contact the Manager, Michael Sainsbury, by emailing bookings [at] strathnairn.asn.au or telephoning 02 6254 2134.

Fee: $35 per session for Village Hall for small groups and community groups. If a large workshop is held, 10% of the workshop fee will be taken as the hire charge.

Ceramic Kilns

Strathnairn has a range of kilns available for hire to financial members with experience firing kilns. The kilns and all their furniture are a valuable resource of the Association which need to be looked after to ensure their usefulness and long life.

They are also potentially dangerous to people, buildings etc and must be used with care. Therefore the Kilns: Conditions of Use must be read and adhered to.

Kilns must be booked in advance in the Kiln Book located in the kitchen of the Ceramic Studios.
